314 Architecture Studio Unveils Butterfly-shaped Residential Proposal In Greece
Have you ever imagined a butterfly-shaped residential development? Imagine no more. 314 architecture studio has brought that to life with its new residential proposal. The project settling within the seaside suburb of Vouliagmeni, in Athens, Greece, has the unique shape of a butterfly.

The project inspired by the shape of the butterfly and just a five minutes walking distance from the sea, has its wings extend outwards, from the dwellings to the garden area. The wings are bent to provide privacy. These wing volumes provide the ground floor with shade while generating open terraces on the top floor, where occupants can enjoy unobstructed sea views.
To allow natural light into the interior, U-glass is extensively used in the project, replacing or camouflaging the solid walls. The U-glass also helps to blur the movement of the occupants, adding to the dwelling’s privacy and overall atmosphere. The glossiness of the U-glass is paired with the matte effect of the white cement stucco chosen for the walls, floor, and ceiling
More beauty is added to the development by the glowing surrounding landscape, which has artificial lakes reflecting the butterfly’s organic shape, the glass surfaces, and the vegetation, adding to the feeling of ambience and tranquillity.
An alternative route which allows more closeness and interaction with nature is also made available, with floating paths over the lakes and plants around it to connect the ground floor balconies.
