An Architect Couple Designs an Apartment on the Water
German architect couple Tanja Wunderlich-Finckh and Chris Finckh have jointly designed a unique modern houseboat which ranks among the most impressive houseboats ever designed. The creation is partly inspired by their love of the water.

The couple initially tried searching around for a water apartment that meets their taste, but upon finding none they decided to design theirs instead. They wanted to design an apartment on the water which will have a creative floor plan and make use of materials not typically found on a boat. The end product is an impressive floating lounge-boat that both meets their design taste and has the ability to perform the required functionality.
One highlight of the lounge-boat is the front room. It offers up to 180-degree views of the dynamic landscape outside and is surrounded by glass. The interior is a room that has four doors, making it possible to divide the room into four spaces to create a living room, bedroom, kitchen and bathroom. For protection from sunlight as well as for privacy, floor-to-ceiling curtains are used. The roof doubles as a terrace with tons of seating, with the addition of a deck space on the back and front of the houseboat.
While the lounge-boat was originally designed by the couple for their use, they have also decided to branch out to becoming a small boat manufacturer and are available for purchase on loungeboat.de. Their loungeboat is located in Weder (Havel), Germany and open for visits, photo shoots, filming and testing out.
