Apple launched its first iMac of the year, and it’s also the first radical redesign since 2012. This series plays on bright colors and thinness.
The sleek and modern design retails for the starting price of$1299. The seven delicious colors range from green, yellow, orange, pink, purple, blue, and silver. The color is faded on the front side of the desktop, so it doesn’t take the attention off the screen. And the back displays a fun color pop that brightens up your work space. As for its size, the desktop is very thin (11mm) with the M1 ship on the inside.
In fact, M1 iMac is so thin, the 3.5mm headphone jack had to be placed on the side and not on the back. And the body takes you back to the old iPods’ anodized aluminium. The Image Signaling Process is another valuable specification: 1080p camera, similar to resolution on your FaceTime camera! Not to mention the audio quality: six-speaker sound system and two subwoofer units on opposite sides, ready to provide you with studio-like quality music. In short, the best audio and photo in iMac history.
The charging apparatus also has also seen improvements. It has its own ethernet port, so it supplies internet and power to your desktop. Imagine having less cables to deal with – especially when you’re moving your workstation around!
Another innovation is the Magic Keyboard which you can match to your color of choice. The most fun feature in the Magic Keyboard might be the emoji button, and the TouchId to unlock and do payments among other things.
M1 iMac is about functionality, performance and sexiness. Last year, we spent so much time on our screens for remote work and for entertainment purposes. So, in a way, it does help to have an appealing desktop that makes your Zoom calls look and sound better.
