You can’t visit Miami without passing by this diamond-patterned Louis Vuitton store.
During the Design Miami Fair in December 2021, Dutch studio Marcel Wanders revealed a brand new look of the city’s LV menswear store. Inspired by the iconic brand’s leather bag straps, monogram, and the Diamond Screen room divider that it had previously designed for the French house, the latest “Diamond Facade” hides behind it an an astonishing interior that was finely executed by the company’s in-house team .
The hexagonal module subtly reflects the famous star monogram that can be seen on most of the brand’s items, and the final architectural facade took it shape by fusing white laser-cut metal plates together to echo Miami’s fresh character and atmosphere.
However, the innovative studio even went as far as give the store a sculptural form that features protruding windows that brightly illuminate the location at night. Also, the LV logo screen and the building’s exterior wall are separated by 30 cms gap, allowing a play of light and shadow as soon as the sun hits the boutique.
While Louis Vuitton has utilized the Diamond Screen pattern in many of its stores and temporary installations, making it unique to the brand’s identity.
