Two storefronts welcome you to the women collection and to the men collection. The renowned shoe designed collaborated with CEO Kristina Blahnik, and interior designer David Thomas who previously did Blahnik’s shop in Palais Royale, Paris. The goal was to create a space that exudes relaxation– classical marble for her, and a classy blue for him. And everyone gets a bar!
The new shop is to open as the lockdown is over. Blahnik did share his fear about launching a shop in NY, that later turned to a playful “why not?”. He expects the post-lockdown retail therapy to kick back in, a bit toned down though.
Madison avenue is home to capsule collection titled 717. Its also a project where Blahnik seeks to reveal a cached facete of his personality. He wants to follow the same fashion for his next London store too. His expectations for the market needs foresee a need for sensuality and pleasure as a counterattack to the lockdown restraints.
The free-spirited and non-traditional vibe is also present in the collection. Men will be served baroque embroideries and designs show a sense of gender fluidity.
Once again, New York is celebrated by creators who feel that NY simulates their creativity like no other place.
