Red Sun Concept Car By Wayne Jung Is A Solar-Powered Mercedes-Benz Hypercar
In a report published by Bloomberg last year, it was said that by 2040, electric cars could overtake fossil fuel-powered automobiles and make up 57% of all car sales worldwide.

This growth was evident in 2019, seeing the electric car market make big gains and proving that solar power technology is one to keep an eye in the future as it will become a key design feature in cars.
In keeping up with the new trend and planning ahead for the future, Korean designer Wayne Jung unveiled a concept car for German auto manufacturer Mercedes-Benz, called Mercedes-Benz Red Sun Future Solar Car Concept 2045.
The Mercedes Future Solar Car Concept 2045 features solar panels that wrap the body of the car, maximizing the surface to collect sunlight. These panels have a pattern on the top surface that tracks the sun when the vehicle is parked, allowing it to continue collecting energy.
The stunning iconic design however is missing the famous Mercedes-Benz logo, opting for a whole car structure design inspired by the logo: three stars are arranged in a row and connected together to form the body.
Wayne Jung says emotion is what makes a car design different from most industrial design. ‘modern car design is getting closer to industrial design as the current design trend emphasizes simplicity. as a car designer, I feel deeply responsible for seeking new proportions and forms that still deliver a massive amount of emotion.’
