Snøhetta's Terra Is A Plant Accessory Series In Terracotta & Stainless Steel For Georg Jensen
Danish design brand Georg Jensen has recently partnered with Snøhetta to produce an astonishing design called Terra. The masterpiece design is made up of a nine-piece plant accessory series crafted in terracotta and stainless steel.

Marius Myking, director of product design at Snøhetta said ‘the idea behind the collection was to create a world of plants, derived from the logic of nature…the planters are deliberately reflected–upside down, if you will – giving the plant the opportunity to take root the same way that it does in nature. moreover, several of the pots are made from terracotta – a type of soil.’
The terra collection which features planters in both terracotta and stainless steel in different sizes is designed both for outdoor and indoor use. The set contrast the earthy and organic forms of the terracotta with the cool and sleek feel of stainless steel. The collection has an impressive mix of contemporary and urban aesthetic ideal for the modern home gardener.
The set also sees a tray and a watering can with distinctive rounded shapes, reinventing these objects as we know them.
According to Georg Jensen’s chief creative officer, Nicholas Manville, ‘terra continues a tradition of challenging ourselves with the combination of metals and other materials.’ ‘Georg Jensen himself was a ceramicist before he founded the company. In a way, sculpting bold, metal pieces with a ceramicist’s eye has been at the core of our design approach for over a century,’ he further said.
