Zygo, an Israeli artist behind the Clothespin movement, and his team of designers are planning to build the world’s largest art installation, a skyscraper in the towering city of Dubai, based off of his famous concept, the clothespin sculpture.
The artist based his concept on the unification of two halves that become one. Two sides of a coin, two souls in one body – or two bodies with a single soul if you take Aristotle’s angle. Art is at least partly subjective after all.
Merging Zygo’s artistic vision in collaboration with the industry-leading entrepreneur Jacob Shpigel’sarchitectural and construction expertise, the tower symbolizes the metaphorical relationship between the artist’s home, Israel, and the UAE where the tower is to be built.
As an accessible, luxurious, high-tech looking symbol for the future relations between the two nations in the 21st century, the clothespin tower stands as a representation of love, peace, and hope within Dubai’s skyline.
The 170m, 50-floor piece serves both practical and artistic purposes. One side contains a luxury hotel with 1,200 rooms, and the other side sports 300 high-end apartments, as well as a 10,000 square meter shopping center complete with opulent restaurants, spa, fitness center, a mezzanine and lounge, and contemporary art galleries.
Defined by two separate parts that come together to form a cohesive whole, the tower effectively becomes the world’s largest art peace in which people can live, work and enjoy their time.
The project is currently looking for strategic partners to help in acquiring land and construction right.
