Volocopter Set To Test Its Full-Scale Electric Air Taxis In Paris Next Year
Come mid 2021, air taxis will be on the skies of Northwest Paris! This new feat is made possible by Volocopter, who will be having a series of operational tests for their new fleet of air taxis.

The ‘volocity’ electric helicopters is making plans to be fully operational as early as 2024, just in time for the Olympic and Paralympic games which will take place in Paris.

Arrangements will be made early 2021 on the airside and boarding areas in cooperation with the civil aviation authority to ensure a smooth test in a real aeronautical environment in June 2021.
Commenting on the test event, President of Paris region, Valeria Pecresse said that it represents an invaluable opportunity to involve the entire aviation industry and demonstrate the unique qualities of Paris region as area of reference within the global urban air mobility market.’

The applications will begin on October 1 and continue until November 13, 2020. Selected projects will be announced later on December 18 2020.
‘We are incredibly excited to be the eVTOL manufacturer of choice in the Paris region’s urban air mobility project. We will open our first commercial air taxi routes in the next 2-3 years and are excited to have a potential launching partner here in Europe’, said Florian Reuter, CEO of Volocopter.
