The Johri is one of Jaipur’s newest hotels. The hotel ensures a serene and calm space away from the neighboring gemstone market Johri Bazaar. But the hotel is not far from the jewelry world and its 5 suites are each named after a fine gem.
It was certainly bold of the founders to open a boutique hotel during a pandemic. Siddharth Kasliwal, Abhishek Honawar and designer Naina Shah poured their savoir-faire in different aspects of the décor. They were keen on keeping a traditional Indian flair, working with local artisans and sourcing traditional materials. The rooms’ interior architecture follows their given title: “Manak (ruby) is hues of pink, Moti (pearl) is white, Sona (gold) is yellow, Neelam (sapphire) is light blue, and Panna(emerald) is pale green”. The color palette does indeed remind guests of Rajasthan. Bone inlay and cane work ornate the five suites, along with beautiful custom-made headboard.
When it's lunch time, hit the vegetarian restaurant located at the ground-floor led by chef Sonu Singh (who previously worked at the Four Seasons Hotel in Mumbai).The vibrant hand-painted murals of India’s wildlife will follow you to the restaurant and the bar, making your stay colorful and peaceful.
