Pharrell Williams and Dave Grutman’s The Goodtime hotel plans on offering you just that. After 5years of being in the works, you can now experience Pharrell and Grutman’s colorful vision in the heart of Miami Beach. The bright color palette inspired by filmmaker Wes Anderson elevates the stay to a multisensory experience.
The team is handpicked by Pharrell and Grutman. The outcome clearly shows the harmonious blend of every member’s genius. Interior designer Ken Fulk brings the Wes Anderson aesthetic alive to the very last detail. The hotel is a celebration of textures and colors: pastels and oranges, stripes and other textures fill theplace.
Landscape designer Raymond Jungles also brought the eclectic feel into the scenery. Jungles chose a bouquet of flowers and plants – some of which align with the orange tones, and others big bright green trees that contrast beautifully with the pastel pink. “It's like straight out of like, what I'd want to say is like the mind of like Margot Tenenbaum. She's a huge inspiration, just for like the overall tone.” described Pharrell to Architectural Digest.
Being an artist, he has an understanding of the entertainment industry. He explained the many textures and colors by stating “we know we want you to be entertained at all times. So, it has to switch up. It has to continue to be pushed, the concept.”Grutman, behind Groot hospitality, successfully ventured in restaurants and nightlife for years. Now, he brings his savoir-faire to the goodtime. David explained his admiration for Kane’s talent: the latter took “classic designs and repurposed them into something that brings it to the next generation.” He created the hotel as an escape from the hustle and bustle.
As a Miami figure, he surely knows what the people want in the moment, to “have a full Instagrammable moment”. Take a dip in the pink and white striped pool, then a walk on the “runway” emerging from the waters, and then sip on a Purple Rain cocktail in the Strawberry Moon cabana, feeling all sexy and good. That’s the moment.
